Convergent adoption modalities of innovative care models and technologies
Abstract
The ongoing demographic and economic evolution requires the scaling up of a coherent sequence of initiatives to deploy innovative Service Models. The technologies to support this dramatic transformation of the health ecosystem have existed for years; the pervasive adoption of each initiative depends instead to varying degrees on a widespread vision, persistent policies, resources, rules, training and infrastructures. But not only that: above all, the attitude of professionals and the awareness of citizens must mature. The Service Models are framed here in eight large Homogeneous Areas; six factors that can influence the Adoption Modalities of the initiatives are then discussed for each Area and across the Areas. The study is able to explain, as a first approximation, the actual differences in the propagation levels visible for the different Areas: the set of these factors marginally affects the spontaneous penetration of initiatives with a technological connotation, slows down the spread of those with a more clinical connotation, and severely limits the adoption of those with a strong organizational connotation.Downloads
